Watch D.O.G.S. Program
The mission for our Watch D.O.G.S. is to provide a positive male role model for all students and help provide an extra set of eyes and ears to help with positive student interactions and behaviors. Below is some important information to help you in your decision to sign up.
Each Watch D.O.G..S. volunteer is allotted one half day per student per semester in your family.
- Morning half day is 8:35 a.m.-noon. Afternoon half day is noon-3:55 p.m.
- Please make sure to check your classroom calendars so as not to sign up for days that have field trips, celebration choir tour, or other off-campus activities your students will be participating in.
- If you need to change your date, you will have access to the sign up and are able to make those changes on your own. If you need to cancel the night before or morning of your scheduled date, please email Tonya McKeirnan and she will cancel your date so that you may reschedule for a different time.
What you can expect during your time as one of our Watch D.O.G.S. no matter if you choose morning or afternoon.
- Check in at the front office; you will need your drivers license.
- We will call your student up to greet you and get your picture taken.
- You will receive your schedule that will tell you where to go from there.
Each classroom teacher has signed up for Watch D.O.G.S. to be in the classroom during a specific time. This time will be on your schedule. It is important to follow the schedule as closely as possible so that you can have the most positive impact. Our students and teachers look forward to Watch D.O.G.S. being in the classroom during these times to help. Examples of classroom activities are playing games with a small group, reading to a small group, working on a specific skill, flash card work, etc.
We have a limited availability of Watch D.O.G.S. shirts for sale. We have sizes small to 3X. They are $15 each; cash or check only.
